    Ages of Conflict Wiki
    A Non-Core City
    A Core City
    Capital City

    Overview[edit | edit source]

Cities are a core game mechanic within Ages of Conflict, spawning a nation will forcefully give it a Capital city and a nation must have at least 1 city, Cities where introduced after the V2.2.0 Update aka the City Spawning and Localization Update.

    Types[edit | edit source]

Cities can either be Core, Non core, or Capitals.

    Core Cites[edit | edit source]

Core cites are green cites that rightfully belong to the nations they are apart of. Core cites can be made into capital cites in the city menu.

Non Core Cites[edit | edit source]

Non core cites are cites that are rightfully owned by another nation other than the nation they are currently in, these can also be placed with no rightful owner. When a city is a non core city it has a chance of revolting from the nation it is occupied by to revive the nation it was originally apart of, however if the rightful owner of the city still exists the city will become a brand new nation which takes the name of the revolting city. Oddly a non core city can be made into a capital city in the City Menu.

    Capital Cites[edit | edit source]

There can only be one capital city per nation, the Capital city is the home of the nation, its where the Nation Name, Gold, and map animations are shown.

    City Menu[edit | edit source]

    City Menu[edit | edit source]

The City Menu is a popup that appears when clicking on any type of city in Ages of Conflict. At the top of the City Menu is the city name which can be edited here, below the city name is the City Actions section which has 4 options:

    • Remove City
      • Destroys the selected city.
    • Turn into Capital
      • Transforms the city into the capital of the nation it is apart of.
    • Establish Core
      • Transforms the selected city into a core city. (greyed out when selected city is already a core)
    • Revoke Core
      • Transforms the selected city into a non core city. (greyed out when selected city is already a non core)

Below the City actions is the Rightful Owner section which only has 2 two buttons, one which displays the nation that rightfully owns the city, and the other which can be clicked to spawn a revolt in the selected city.

Capital City Menu[edit | edit source]

The Capital City menu is a smaller version of the regular menu, it appears whenever you click a capital city and is only available to change the name of the city.

    Creating / Removing Cites[edit | edit source]

Cities can be removed manually in God mode, the Scenario Editor, or Map Editor, they can also be removed automatically because when Razing is enabled there is a 50% chance of removing a conquered nations capital city.

In God mode, the Scenario Editor, or Map Editor you can spawn as many Core or non Core cities as you like in the map.

    Naming[edit | edit source]

As of the v3.1.1 Update, Cites can now be named. This naming feature is optional but when a nation revolts from a city it will take the name of the revolting city.

    Trivia[edit | edit source]

    • Before the v2.2.0 Update, Cities where only obtainable via spawning in new nations
    • Before the v3.1.1 Update, Cites could not be named and when a revolt happened a random name would be picked.
    • Before the v3.1.1 Update, Capital Cites did not have a popup menu when clicked, the menu was added to allow for the naming of capitals.
